Dental Technology Center is currently hiring a Field Technician in the Northern Virginia/DC Territory. This is a full-time position in the field of Information Technology.
Job description:
This position will be customer-facing on a daily basis whether in-person or by phone. The individual must be self-confident and able to quickly earn the client’s trust in abilities and knowledge. The candidate will travel throughout the Northern Virginia/DC area. When the candidate is not traveling to clients, this position will allow candidate to work remotely.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing consulting, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support services to clients in a dental office setting.
- Troubleshooting network and software issues quickly by identifying the source of problems, which could be due to hardware, software or network faults.
Desired Skills and Expertise
Experience:
Candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the IT field. Experience supporting Networking Healthcare (Dental) is a big plus. Having experience installing network Cat5e/Cat6 cabling is a benefit as well.
Education:
Candidate with a a college degree in IT is desired. Network Certifications are necessary.
Desired Skills:
- Solid technical understanding and skill in troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring of core computer network components including workstations, servers, firewalls, routers, backup systems, and anti-virus.
- Problem solving through troubleshooting network and software issues.
- Experience with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems plus configuring and troubleshooting peer-to-peer and client-server networks.
- Must have the ability to regularly lift, move and carry computer equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. Use of common powers tools and climbing of ladders is required.
- Good customer service skills, attention to details, time management, organization, and the ability to multi task. Ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments. In addition, this individual must be able to take on tasks with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment in performing these tasks and complete them in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Candidate must be a self-starter. Proficient in speaking and understanding English.
- Self-confident and trustworthy.
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with network users and other information systems professionals.
- This position is a front line resource for customer questions and concerns. Work performed at customer site will require intensive customer interface and requires strong interpersonal and communication abilities. The talent to develop and maintain client relations is essential.
